Tell me a short, interesting fact about
One fascinating fact about the Roman Empire is that it had a complex system of roads known as the "Roman Road Network" which spanned over 80,000 kilometers (50,000 miles) throughout its empire. These roads played a crucial role in connecting cities, facilitating trade, and enabling the rapid movement of the Roman army. The most famous of these roads is the Appian Way, the first Roman road to connect the city of Rome with the port of Brindisi, in southern Italy. It is still partially in use today.
