Tell me a short, interesting fact about
The Roman Empire had an extensive road network, which at its peak stretched over 80,000 kilometers (50,000 miles), connecting cities, towns, and important landmarks. This network facilitated trade, military movement, and the spread of Roman culture throughout its territories. The most famous of these roads was the Appian Way, the first paved road outside of the city of Rome. It was so important that it was called the "Queen of Roads" in ancient times.
