Tell me a short, interesting fact about

One fascinating fact about the Roman Empire is that it was not governed by a single monarch, but rather by a collective of leaders known as the Senate. During the Republic (509 BC – 27 BC), the Senate consisted of 'patricians', a privileged class of Romans, and made political decisions through voting and debate. After the transition to the Empire in 27 BC, the Senate continued to play a key role in governance, but the emperor held ultimate power. The last Roman Emperor, Romulus Augustus, was deposed by King Odoacer in 476 AD, marking the end of the Western Roman Empire. However, the Eastern Roman Empire, or Byzantine Empire, continued to exist until 1453 AD.
